What is a General Physician?

A general physician (GP) is a doctor who specializes in general medicine and provides non-surgical care to patients. They are also known as primary care physicians. 

General Physicians are the first line of defense in the healthcare system. They are responsible for: 

• Promoting and safeguarding overall health and well-being

• Diagnosing various medical conditions

• Providing initial treatment or referrals to specialists

• Performing routine screenings for certain health conditions

• Providing lifestyle recommendations and follow-up care for chronic conditions
